WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS:
Restoring Petals Resin Workshop:Â
Discover the art of resin crafting in the Restoring Petals Workshop with artist, poet, and AAM Fellow Chloe Cole Wilson. Learn resin-pouring techniques as you create inspirational tiles incorporating paper, photographs, and dried flowers. Your completed artwork will become part of the upcoming Restoring Petals exhibition, debuting on January 15, 2024.
More information on Restoring Petals:Â
Restoring Petals is a community project centered on the intersection of visual arts, performing arts and mental health. Chloe Cole Wilson guides participants through heart-felt conversations on the impact of COVID-19 on our pasts and futures. Restoring Petals is an opportunity to connect through art-making and use dialogue as tools to restore our souls, find rest and cultivate joy. Restoring Petals will culminate in an interactive exhibition in AAM’s Art Ways. This installation will create space for continued healing through story-telling, play, and rest
Gelli Printing Workshop:Â
Join AAM's Manager of Museum Accessibility, Margie Makowski, in a hands-on workshop exploring the fun and sensory world of Gelli printing. Explore the endless possibilities of the soft and flexible Gelli plate, Â by using natural materials to create textures or by layering ink to develop unique colors. Whether you're a new artist or a practiced printmaker, Gelli is fun for everyone!
